Ice Cube, Dr. dre, Eric Wright and the other members of NWA are experiencing police brutality and working at dead end jobs. Together they work through the struggles of living in Compton by putting some of Eric's drug money to good use and starting a record label that blows up. The music they produce generates controversy and brings a lot of national attention to the group. The film follows them through the transition of normal people to global stars.—gavin Johns
